Parafield Squadron Cadets and Officers at this year's National Review in Canberra
The Parafield Cadets and Officers came away with a number of wins from their first National Review held on the 29 September in Canberra. The Parafield Girls were awarded 1st prize with the Education Display on the theme "Flight without Engines". Parafield placed 4th in the Section Drill Competition and the Boys Education Display.
Also, congratulations to 1ST OFF Joy for 1st first prize and LCDT Stanek for 2nd with their education essays. To add to the success, the SA Wing Beat the Buzzer Team came in at second place. On Sunday the 2nd of April, Parafield Squadron members were given the oppurtunity to attend the 5th Annual Antique and Classic Aircraft Fly In at Parafield Airport. The display saw a variety of aircraft fly including a Trojan, Chipmunks, Tiger Moths and Nanchangs; just to name a few! The day was also used as a recruiting drive for the squadron, with the Cadets doing a fantastic job in handing out flyers to the public, while the Officers answered questions of some very keen to join members of the public at the Squadron's stand. Parafield Squadron held a Training Weekend in February with Comr Rickards, Lt Comr Owen and Sqn Sgt Chiswell coming over from Victoria Group to assist with the training.
